QS World University Rankings Releases 2020 List of Top Law Schools Around the World

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020 has finally been released, with over 300 law programs around the world cited as being at the top of their field. From universities and colleges in the United States, to those in Latin America, the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020 lists many noteworthy universities offering state-of-the-art law programs around the world.


If you are interested in attending law school, below are the top universities you should keep in mind.

United States: Harvard University

Harvard University from the United States featured at Rank 1 on the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020 list for law. Harvard Law School is known around the world for its high quality tertiary education programs, with many providing students with practical and professional work experience, as well as integrating an international scope to help serve communities around the world. The university also offers students the opportunity to participate in public interest work.

Harvard Law School teaches approximately 1,990 students each year, with more than 250 staff members facilitating the education programs (100 full time professors and more than 150 visiting professors).

United Kingdom: University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge’s Faculty of Law ranks second in the 2020 QS World University Rankings and makes up around 6% of the university’s total number of undergraduates. The University of Cambridge’s law school provides students with a thorough education on subjects such as English law, European law, public and private internal laws, Roman law, legal philosophy and criminology.

At present, the law school has approximately 700 undergraduate students and 250 postgraduate students, with around 70 University and College Teaching Officers in Law.

Australia: The University of Melbourne

The University of Melbourne is ranked 10th in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020 for law. The University of Melbourne is the top law school in Australia and Oceania. It is known for its extensive contribution to global law education and research, and its leading local and international scholars which provide transformative educational experiences for students. 

The University of Melbourne’s law school has been active since 1857 and has continuously remained at the top of worldwide rankings due to its efforts to modernise the way law is taught, and to keep its courses relevant to today’s legal climate. 

Singapore: National University of Singapore

The top law school in Asia is the National University of Singapore, which is featured 13th on the QS World University Rankings 2020 list. As one of the only eight other Asian universities making the list, the National University of Singapore is famous for its international law-focused education programs and receptiveness to international students.
